Volunteers needed

The King County Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs certified long-term care ombudsman volunteers. After completing a four-day training program, visit with residents, take and resolve complaints and advocate for residents. Events

The Chris Elliot Memorial golf tournament is scheduled for Oct. 3. The Chris Elliott fund, run by Sammamish resident Dellann Elliott, helps fund research in Glioblastoma, a kind of brain cancer. Chris Elliott died from the cancer in 2002. The event will also raise money for the Jimmy Fund Golf program, which benefits the Massachusetts-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Organizers hope to have more than 100 golfers and 300 dinner guests who will raise more than $50,000.
